About this policy
Courtroom is a community discussion platform for everyday dilemmas. This policy explains how information may be handled when you browse, vote, submit cases, add arguments or report content. Before launch, the operator should add its verified legal identity and contact details.
Demo mode
The homepage app demo uses sample cases and browser-session state. Votes, arguments and cases created in the demo are not sent to a production database. Sharing may use your device share sheet or clipboard if supported.
Information in a future live service
A production service may process case text, category, votes, comments or arguments, moderation reports, timestamps, basic technical logs and account information if accounts are introduced. Avoid including sensitive personal information in a case.
Anonymity and public submissions
Anonymous by default means a public case does not need to display your name. It does not guarantee that a person cannot be identified from details included in the story or from technical information processed by the service. Remove names, phone numbers, addresses, workplaces and other identifying details.
How information may be used
Information may be used to display and operate cases, calculate vote results, prevent spam and abuse, moderate content, respond to reports, maintain security and improve the service. A live service should describe its actual analytics and hosting providers before launch.
Safety and reports
Do not post threats, doxxing, private intimate material, targeted harassment or identifying accusations about private individuals. Report content that puts someone at risk. The platform may remove content that breaches its rules.
Your choices and contact
For a production launch, provide a working privacy contact and clear procedures for access, correction, deletion and complaints under applicable law. This template should be reviewed and completed by the operator before collecting real user submissions.
